Like clockwork he his. Every night at midnight he strolls over to the TV and sits in front of it. He looks back at me as if to say ‘I want my program on’. Sometimes he will interrupt a film I am watching and I give in to him like the big softy I am. You see he his an old man now and he has his routine. After watching his program he will head straight up to bed.
I find it funny that he thinks he has knocked the bird out of the TV and goes behind it to check its not there! I’m convinced he thinks he is on a quest to prove it can be done, that he can knock a bird out of the TV and catch it in real life.
As he has gotten older he watches more shows than ever from Tennis, to paw patrol his preferred morning show and some other relaxing wildlife shows. I would love to buy him some of those pet buttons you can get to see what he could say but I fear he may be too old to be trained!
The beauty in this has always been sharing a moment with him and its now like groundhog day I can set my watch by him. But I don’t mind its a time for us both to relax and enjoy being present as always.
He is in is 80s now and still sprightly for his age!
