Where is the compassion?
This is the second time I have watched a black person get killed on camera. First was George Floyd when he was killed by a policeman. The second is Sonya Massey. Both should be alive today!
Sonya contacted the police department in Springfield, Illinois as she was scared that someone was outside her property prowling around. At first it seems like no one is home and the officer states she is refusing to answer the door. When she answers she states ‘please don’t hurt me’ the officer replies:-
‘Why would we hurt you’
Sonya Massey is a paranoid schizophrenic the officers seem to be aware she suffers with mental health problems. They ask about a car parked in her driveway. It doesn’t belong to her. They reassure Sonya that they have checked her whole yard and walked around the whole block. Sonya says “Please God please God I’m trying to get help y’all” This shows that Sonya is a woman who believes in God. The officers seem to want to just reassure her and leave. One of the officers then asks “Is there anything else I can help you with?”
There was some concern as she was asking for help but the officers don’t seemed too bothered by it. Sonya has mental health problems it could be that she was needing help but was unsure how to approach this? That…
